We can’t believe it’s all over!

The third Big Retreat Wales Festival  – a potent mix of fitness, wellbeing, fab food, drink, entertainment and discovery set here in Lawrenny, is done for 2019. The marquees have gone, the yoga mats are all rolled up and the village is quiet once again.

The ‘feel good festival’, as everyone calls it, was a massive hit once more, with around 2,500 gathering on the Old Castle Terrace above the river for four days over the May Bank Holiday.

The weather was kind (well, generous even) and a quick flick through various instagram feeds (@thebigretreatwales) shows the sheer range of things that Big Retreaters got up to, from wild swimming in the river and footy on the campsite pitch, to side splitting comedy and the (not) surprisingly popular gin tasting workshops.

The festival is an extension of the village during the weekend. Tom and Birte’s Little Peppercorn kept the hungry crowds fed, the village shop kept campers topped up with essentials and the pub was full to overflowing, despite running a busy bar on the main festival site.

It’s what Pembrokeshire is all about!

In many ways the Big Retreat Wales shows festival-goers what life is all about in Pembrokeshire and many are blown away by it. There’s a breathtaking landscape around us, with so many things to do, and the happiness brought on by a healthy, outdoor lifestyle is all packaged up in one fab weekend.

A massive thanks to everyone in Lawrenny Village and beyond for supporting us again this year.

Bring on 2020!
